Vonzrr Bakery, a new large-scale café in Seochon

Last Friday, I met up with a friend in Gwanghwamun. After having a Whopper meal at Burger King, we searched for a place to get dessert. That’s how we ended up at Vonzrr Bakery in Seochon. The weather was clear, and a cool breeze was blowing, making it perfect for a stroll, so we decided to take a walk around Seochon before heading for coffee. If you’re visiting Seoul, Gwanghwamun or Gyeongbokgung Palace are must-see tourist spots. After eating there, you’ll probably feel like enjoying a leisurely cup of coffee. If that sounds like you, just follow me.

A variety of breads, including pastries, salt bread, and croissants

They also offer a variety of baked goods, including lemon butterfly pastries, matcha butterfly pastries, salted bread, and carrot cake. It seems like a great spot for a light brunch. Since we had already eaten, we just ordered drinks.

My Personal Travel Itinerary

To the left of Gyeongbokgung Palace is a neighborhood called Seochon. It’s home to charming, picturesque art galleries, cafes, and restaurants. Since it’s not very crowded, you can enjoy a peaceful stroll through the neighborhood. So, to help with digestion, I walked along the stone wall path of Gyeongbokgung Palace and headed toward Tongin Market. You can explore the market there. If I get the chance, I’ll write a post about Tongin Market as well.

After passing through Tongin Market and exploring Seochon, I headed to a café. If you have the time, I recommend taking a walk like I did. You’ll be able to experience the quiet charm of Seoul. If you haven’t eaten yet, try Samcheongdong Sujebi, a famous restaurant in Bukchon (on the opposite side of Seochon), known as “A Warm and Hearty Meal in Seoul.”

The Atmosphere at Vonzrr Bakery

This place hasn’t been open for very long. The building is huge, so it stands out even from a distance. It’s not easy to find such a large café in Seoul, so I went in with high expectations. There’s a terrace right next to the entrance on the first floor, so it would be nice to sit outside and enjoy a cup of coffee on a sunny day. The counter is located on the first floor, and there are seating areas on the second and third floors as well.

The space feels open and airy, with plenty of natural light and ample seating, making it perfect for chatting with friends. The interior is sophisticated and modern, making it a great spot for taking photos. It would be perfect for posting on Instagram or TikTok. There are large sofa seats and a variety of table seats, so you can comfortably sit wherever you like and enjoy your time. The majority of the customers were definitely women rather than men. The café building and interior design are so charming and beautiful that I saw many people taking photos and videos.

There was also another terrace area besides the one near the entrance. Maybe because the weather was nice when I visited, most people seemed to be sitting out on the terrace. It would be wonderful to enjoy a cup of coffee and a bite of sweet cake while soaking in the atmosphere and feeling the cool breeze. It seemed like it would offer a pleasant experience for foreign tourists as well. After ordering coffee at the counter, we found a seat and chatted for a while. A few minutes later, our drinks arrived. The Valrhona Chocolate Latte was absolutely delicious. It was sweet, with a rich chocolate flavor that made me want to keep drinking it. The Matcha Latte had a classic taste. It wasn’t overpowering, and I could enjoy the subtle aroma of matcha while sipping it. Overall, the quality of the drinks was excellent. If you visit, be sure to try some of the other items on the menu besides the ones I ordered! And please leave a comment with your thoughts.

Seochon used to be a real hotspot. Even now, there are plenty of locals and tourists, but back then, it was really bustling. These days, people have spread out to other hotspots, so it’s not as crowded as it used to be, which I actually prefer. It’s a neighborhood I visit occasionally when I want to read a book in peace or have a quiet chat with a friend. I recommend Vonzrr Bakery to foreign travelers looking to spend some quiet time in a peaceful, secluded spot.
