3 of the best Seoul souvenirs 2026 that I personally found and recommend

Since I work near Myeong-dong, I often pass through the area. Every time I do, I can’t help but notice that there aren’t many places that sell authentic souvenirs that truly symbolize Korea or Seoul. I’m talking about places like Insadong or the National Museum of Korea that sell souvenirs representative of Korea or Seoul. While passing through Myeong-dong, I happened to find a shop that sells authentic souvenirs to commemorate and cherish memories of Seoul. It’s the Myeong-dong Tourist Information Center.

Although it’s not located right in the heart of Myeong-dong, it’s close to Euljiro 1-ga Station, so it’s very accessible.

You can get there via both Euljiro-Inpgu (Line 2) and Myeongdong (Line 4) stations, but going via Euljiro-Inpgu is faster and more convenient. Go up the stairs leading to Starbucks between Exit 5 and Exit 6 of Euljiro-Inpgu Station, and then walk straight down the alley next to Ilmiri Geumgye Jjimdak. You will then see a large Hana Bank building in front of you. It is located on the first floor of that very building. I will attach a detailed map.

The store is open every day from 9 AM to 6 PM. I visited around 5 PM after finishing work, and since there wasn’t a single person there, I was able to browse and enjoy shopping in peace.

Here is a tip

1. Haechi, the character symbolizing Seoul

Haechi was the character symbolizing Seoul in the past, but its design and colors have been remodeled. Friends known as Hyunmu, Jujak, Baekho, and Cheongryong have also been introduced. My favorite character is Baekho. I came to like it because the dark circles under its eyes seem to resemble me.

Many merchandise featuring Haechi and its friends is sold here. Items on display include Haechi candles (15,000 KRW), Haechi notebooks (19,200 KRW), and various postcards.

In addition to that, we have a wide variety of items available, ranging from souvenirs for everyday use, such as Hatch magnets and tumblers (14,900 KRW), to cute little items for display.

2. K-Demon Hunters’ Saja Boys Gat

It is no exaggeration to say that 2025 is the year of K-Demon Hunters. Saja Boys, who sparked a global K-pop craze! Thanks to the popularity of Saja Boys, interest in the costumes they wore has also grown. This place sells miniature gat (traditional Korean hats). It can be a bit burdensome to buy and carry around a real gat. Since these are lightweight and easy to carry, they would make a wonderful gift.

They also sell cool mother-of-pearl style bookmarks (28,000 KRW). They beautifully showcase the luxurious and elegant patterns of traditional Korea, making them the perfect gift item. 3. Seoul Explorer’s Recommended Item! Magnets

One of the things I always buy when I travel abroad is magnets. One of my hobbies is buying magnets featuring symbols that represent a country and sticking them on the refrigerator. The Myeongdong Tourist Information Center sells magnets featuring various iconic Seoul landmarks, such as Gyeongbokgung Palace, Namsan Tower, and DDP. The price is 15,000 KRW. I also bought a magnet with Namsan Tower on it and put it up at home.

Also, there is a slightly expensive but classy souvenir: the King Sejong statue figurine. King Sejong is likely the most beloved king in Korean history. He created the Korean alphabet (Hangul) and was a great figure who accomplished many great things. If you go to Gwanghwamun, you will be able to see the massive statue of King Sejong. I think the King Sejong statue figurine, representing Korea, is a great gift to give to those unfamiliar with the country, sharing Korean history along with the story. Just pretending to know a thing or two, haha.

In addition to that, there are various other items on display, such as Dalgona DIY kits made famous by the “Squid Game,” Seoul ramen pot holders, and Gimbap keyrings. Even if you don’t buy anything, you will lose track of time just enjoying the browsing.

Today, we looked into the “Best Seoul Souvenirs 2026” sold at the Myeongdong Tourist Information Center. Actually, souvenirs are also sold at the airport before departure, so buying them then is fine. However, both price and quality are important. Since they are officially sold by the Seoul Metropolitan Government, we are confident that you can purchase with peace of mind regarding both price and quality. I recommend that anyone planning a trip to Myeongdong or looking to buy a proper souvenir take the time to visit.
